Preliminary quality check
Once a manuscript is received, it is assessed by the Editor-in-Chief (or Associate Editor, or Advisory Editor) for its relevance to the journal scope. Also at this stage, plagiarism, authorship and competing interests, ethical approval statements (when applicable) are checked.
If the manuscript does not meet the journal's criteria for the specified parameters, it will be sent to the authors with a request for revision. For more information about the criteria regarding plagiarism, authorship, conflicts of interest and ethical approval statements, please read the
Guide to authors and
Publication Ethics.
If the manuscript meets the journal's criteria for the specified parameters, then it will be sent to one of the editors of the journal's editorial board, who will guide it through to publication. The member of the editorial board to whom the manuscript will be sent is an active researcher in their field.
Evaluation by a editorial board member
A member of the editorial board selects two independent expert reviewers to assess the scientific quality of the article and, with their consent, submits the manuscript without identifying the authors or their affiliations.
Authors may indicate in their cover letter reviewers' names who should not review your manuscript. This will be taken into account by the Editor.
Authors may also suggest potential independent reviewers who are active researchers in the field. However, you should be aware that the Editor will not necessarily send the manuscript to these reviewers.
Double blind review
According to journal policy, authors and reviewers remain anonymous to each other. The manuscript is undergoing double-blind peer review. The submitted manuscript (after preliminary check) will be converted into an anonymous file (without information about the author(s)) for review purposes.
Evaluation by an Expert Reviewer
The reviewer evaluates the anonymous manuscript in terms of the relevance of the research purpose, scientific validity and validity and adequacy of the methods/methodology/analysis/interpretation of data used and the results obtained. After completion of the examination, the reviewers provide a report to the editors. You can read more about peer review in the
Guide to Reviewers.
First solution
After receiving the Reviewer's report, the Editor makes the first decision (one of four): accept as is; accept after minor changes; request major changes and reassess the manuscript; reject. We aim to make initial decisions on your manuscript within 15 days of submission.
Authors' actions
If reviewer comments have been sent to the authors, the authors should revise and update the manuscript in accordance with the reviewers' critical comments. To better understand and track changes to the manuscript and responses to comments, updated text should be highlighted in any colour.
Authors are encouraged to submit an updated manuscript to the editors as soon as possible to ensure continuity of the manuscript review process and not delay the editorial and publishing process.
After receiving the updated manuscript, the Editor can evaluate the manuscript independently or resubmit it to reviewers. The responsible attitude of the authors to revise the manuscript in accordance with the comments of the reviewers will avoid numerous checks before the manuscript is accepted. Please feel free to ask the editor questions and ask for assistance, as we are always available to assist you throughout the review process and preparing your manuscript for publication.
As soon as the Editor makes a decision about the final acceptance of the manuscript for publication in TEIEE, he will send a corresponding message to the corresponding author. At the same time, the manuscript will be sent to a technical editor for preparation for online publication. Editorial reserves the right to make minor necessary adjustments to the text. Significant changes to the text will be agreed with the Authors. Before publishing online, Authors will receive a proof of your article, which you should review carefully to ensure that scientific accuracy has been maintained during the formatting process. At this stage, only some technical errors can be corrected, and all corrections must be approved by the author team. Corrected proofs are recommended to be returned to the Editor within 2-3 days from receipt.
If the manuscript is rejected
The decision to reject a manuscript can be made at any stage of the evaluation if a member of the editorial board considers that your work does not meet the TEIEE criteria. The authors will be provided with appropriate commentary and justification for this decision.
